Nikon's
Monarch UCC Gold 30mm riflescopes—offered in 1.5-6x42, 2.5-10x50 and 2.5-10x56
models--were designed to optimize hunting conditions to the benefit of the
hunter/shooter. Developed with the same 30mm technology used in building the
Nikon Tactical Riflescope line, the new Monarch Gold riflescopes feature greater
tube strength, wider windage and elevation travel (120 MOA in the 1.5-6x42; 80
MOA in 2.5-10 models), and a broader light path from objective to eyepiece lens
than typical one-inch tube scopes. The result is a more flexible scope capable
of being used for a wider variety of hunting and shooting tasks.
The 1.5-6x42
Monarch Gold, with its massive field of view, very useable, four-times power
range and at-least-7mm-exit pupil at any magnification, should find favor not
only on heavy caliber rifles by dangerous game hunters in close and broken
cover, but also by whitetail and elk hunters wanting the ultimate
extreme-low-light-scope.
Nikon's
2.5-10x50 and 2.5-10x56 Monarch Gold models are long range scopes designed for
hunting big game in more open country—even in less-than-desirable lighting
conditions-- as well as for varminting. Either of these long-range scopes can
also be adapted for tactical applications.
Both the
2.5-10x50 and the 2.5-10x56 incorporate turret mounted, locking, side-focus
parallax adjustments, allowing shooters to precisely focus out parallax at any
known range from 50 yards to infinity.
All three
Monarch Gold scopes utilize quick-focus eyepieces with a twist and lock design
to provide +/- 5 diopter adjustment and for quick and easy focus control. A
rubber ring that also allows for easy gripping with gloved hands protects the
end of the eyepiece.
The Monarch
30mms also feature low profile, 1/4 MOA hand-turn windage and elevation
adjustments with positive, audible and tactile clicks for easy zeroing and
in-the-field adjustments.
Reticle
choices in the new Monarch Gold models include a traditional Nikoplex, or a
German #4 reticle. The German #4 allows quick targeting, yet provides a more
open sight picture in the upper portion of the sighting plane, and is gaining
increasing favor with American hunters.
